Erect=built- A monument was erected in front of the presidential palace.

Pivotal=important- Taipei is a pivotal city of Taiwan.

Deploy=position- He deployed his troops around the structure.

Breach=broken- The waves made a breach in the sea wall.

Perish=die. vanish- Hundreds of people perished in the earthquake.

Assault=attack- The soldiers made a strong assault to the town.
