The idea of beauty

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Do you agree or disagree with the statement?

I agree that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, because individuals see the world in their own personal way. It is always described a person’s sense of beauty, so it’s a famous phrase in the world.

First, I think beauty depends on personal preference and it reflects the tastes and opinions. This personal view holds beauty is whether view in a person or an object of art. This personal’s idea of beauty maybe is rooted in his or her own preference mixed with his or her own culture.

Second, the phrase it means personal’s preconception of beauty. For example, we perceive people more beautiful as we come to know them better. Of course, people never think a person who they dislike is beauty. Therefore, everyone has their different standards of what is beautiful. Somebody decide in inside and outside of a person and maybe others think appearance is most important.

Third, familiarity and intimacy is also decides to the idea of beauty and it’s very common to describe the relationship. Your partner is the best in your mind so that's why you choose them with you, beside you. The reason to prove again that beauty is no standards. Personal views and ideas is the key.

As a result, influence of cultural values and personal familiarity is what creates beauty in the eye of the beholder.
