A gift (such as a camera, a soccer ball, or an animal) can contribute to a child's development. What gift would you give to help a child develop? Why?
I think a good development of a child's life means he has a good heart, a passion and responsible attitude. Thus, a child can have an independent and a healthy development. Therefore, the most appropriate gift is a pet. My reasons are as follows.
First of all, the child has to be responsible for the pet's life. He will know how to respect a life, even to collect information about the pet's everything by himself. Many books show how to feed a pet and teach owners how to tell a pet is sick. Then, a child will watch out for some rules of feeding a pet. For example, a dog can't eat chocolate, because it may lead to a death. Another, when a dog's nose is dry, it means the dog is sick. After knowing those attentions, the child will know how to look after the little life on his own.
Second, when the child interacts with the pet, he will learn how to get along with another one. Facing the pet is just like playing with a company, because they both have heart, brain and thinking. For instance, when people grab food from a pet, the pet will bark at you to express his anger. Just as children often fight with friends, because they snatch things from each other. Living with a pet is just like getting along with friends. It's needs passion, patience and concern. You treat them nice and they will live in peace with you. Through the process a child will learn the correct attitude early. It will be a good concept for a child's development.
Finally, pets can fill up a child's lonely feeling of life. Nowadays parents are busy and they only want to have one child, so that the child easily feels lonely. A pet can fill in the vacancy, when they at home alone. After all, loneliness is not good for a child's development. If a pet accompanies him, it can help a child have a healthy mental development in the process of their growth.
For the above reasons, I believe that a pet is the best gift for a child in the process of their growth. To take care of a pet will enhance their behavior and mind well. Nothing could be more suitable than this kind of gift.
